Dermatopathic investigation of northern China pontoon bridge troop in the summer

Abstract:Objective To investigate the incidence and the cognition of skin disease in northern China pontoon bridge troops in the summer, so as to provide reference for skin disease prevention and control. Method Skin examination and questionnaire survey were given to some of the ofifcers and soldiers during the annually summer physical examination, then the incidence and the distribution of the dermatosis were recorded in detail and analyzed. Results Total incidence of skin disease was 33.6%(303/900). The incidence of eczema and dermatitis was 37.0%(112/303), which was highest, fungal infectious skin diseases was 22.4%(68/303), and infectious skin diseases was 13.9%(42/303). Other skin diseases, such as insect bite dermatitis, physical skin disease and the diseases of the skin appendages were relatively rare. Questionnaire survey showed that only 23%of the subjects could correctly identify the kind of the dermatosis, 57%could maintain good health habits, and 30%had good compliance with medical regimens. Conclusion Training and life characteristics of the garrison, as well as lack of the basic knowledge of skin diseases prevention and treatment were the main reasons that resulted in the high incidence of skin diseases in northorn china pontoon bridge troop in summer.
