The expression of Jagged1 protein in psoriasis vulgaris, basal cell carcinoma and skin squamous cell carcinoma
Abstract:Objective To investigate the express of Jagged1 protein in the lesions of psoriasis vulgaris, basal cell carcinoma and skin squamous cell carcinoma. Methods The expression of Jagged1 protein in the lesions of psoriasis vulgaris, basal cell carcinoma, skin squamous cell carcinoma as well as normal skin were detected by immunohistochemical Envision method. Results Jagged1 protein showed negative expression in the lesions of psoriasis vulgaris. The expression of Jagged1 protein in the lesions of basal cell carcinoma and skin squamous cell carcinoma signiifcantly increased compared with control group (P<0.01). The expression of Jagged1 protein in the lesions of basal cell carcinoma and skin squamous cell carcinoma was stronger than that of psoriasis vulgaris (P<0.05). Conclusions The negative expression of Jagged1 protein in the lesions of psoriasis vulgaris indicated that the protein may not participate in the pathogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris. The overexpression of Jagged1 protein in basal cell carcinoma and skin squamous cell carcinoma indicated that the protein may be involved in the proliferation of cutaneous malignant tumors.
