Abstract:Objective To explore a simple and effective surgical technique for repairing iatrogenic lower ectropion caused by cosmetic lateral canthoplasty. Methods From October 2023 to December 2024,18 patients with lower ectropion and lower eyelid conjunc-tival exposure following cosmetic lateral canthoplasty performed at other institutions were treated at the Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery,Naval Medical Center of PLA.All cases were repaired using the lower eyelid anterior and posterior lamellar interdigitating displace-ment technique to restore the morphology and function of the lateral canthus. Results All patients were followed up for 6 to 16 months post-operatively,with an average follow-up time of 9 months.Lower ectropion and conjunctival exposure were completely resolved, and the lower eyelid margin appearance approached normal. Conclusion The lower eyelid anterior and posterior lamellar interdigitating displacement technique is a simple and effective method for repairing lower ectropion and conjunctival exposure following cosmetic lateral canthoplasty.
