Abstract:Skin sources play a critical role in tissue repair and organ reconstruction. However, conventional autologous skin graft-ing is limited by donor site morbidity and insufficient skin supply, making it difficult to meet clinical needs.Minimizing secondary damage and achieving"perfect"tissue repair and organ reconstruction are the goals pursued by researchers. In recent years, various methods for constructing skin have been reported, especially with the rapid development of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering technologies. As a result, minimally invasive or even non-invasive approaches have become new strategies.Skin substitutes can be constructed through in vitro cell culture, structural hierarchical artificial skin can be developed using tissue engineering, and personalized, vascularized skin can be created with 3D bioprinting. These emerging methods have significantly broadened the pathways for skin sourcing.Breakthroughs in intelligent tissue expanders, novel permanent composite skin substitutes such as Zurich Skin, and high-precision 3D bioprinting technolo-gies have significantly enhanced the effectiveness of wound repair and the quality of tissue regeneration. These advances offer non-inva-sive,functional,and personalized solutions for complex tissue defects. This review aims to summarize the recent progress in skin construc-tion for tissue repair and regeneration from the perspective of technological approaches.
