Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of using contralateral auricular cartilage grafts to reconstruct the nasal biomechanical structure in the repair of cleft lip nasal deformity. Methods From January 2011 to December 2023,735 patients with uni-lateral cleft lip nasal deformities underwent nasal reconstruction.Auricular cartilage grafts were used to reconstruct the nasal biomechanical structure to achieve improved nasal symmetry. Results All 735 patients achieved primary wound healing postoperatively. The follow-up period ranged from 3 to 35 months. No auricular graft resorption was observed in any of the patient.Six cases developed mild postoperative infections, all of which were cured with oral antibiotics. No postoperative hematomas or secondary nasal structural collapse occurred.Pho-tographic analysis demonstrated significant improvements in nasal tip projection and nostril symmetry. The outcomes were satisfactory. Conclusion Reconstruction of the nasal biomechanical framework using contralateral auricular cartilage grafts provides a structurally stable and aesthetically favorable approach for correcting cleft lip nasal deformities. This approach merits further clinical application.
