Abstract:Objective To compare the efficacy differences between semi-open and open rhinoplasty in the correction of sec-ondary unilateral cleft lip nasal deformities. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 30 patients with secondary unilateral cleft lip nasal deformities from January 2023 to January 2024.These patients were divided into a semi-open group(15 cases)and an open group(15 cases). The operative time and complications in both groups were recorded.Preoperative and postoperative 6 months measure-ments,including the nasofacial angle, nasolabial angle, the alar angle on the affected side, the columellar deviation angle, the nostril height ratio, and the nostril width ratio, were taken to evaluate the surgical outcomes. Results The operative duration in the semi-open group was shorter than that in the open group(P<0.05).Postoperatively,both groups showed significant improvements in the nasofacial angle,na-solabial angle, the alar angle on the affected side, the columellar deviation angle, the nostril height ratio, and the nostril width ratio com-pared to preoperative values(P<0.05).However,no significant differences were observed between the two groups in terms of these postop-erative measurements(P>0.05).Conclusion There are no significant differences in the efficacy between semi-open and open rhino-plasty in the correction of secondary nasal deformities secondary to unilateral cleft lip.The choice of surgical approach should be based on a comprehensive consideration of the deformity severity and patient needs.
