Research advances in surgical treatments of nasal valve stenosis after rhinoplasty

Abstract：Rhinoplasty market not only affects the aesthetic appearance of the nose but also leads to ventilation disorders with nasal obstruction as the main manifestation,significantly reducing the patient's quality of life.The nasal valve is divided into the internal nasal valve and the external nasal valve.Rhinoplasty can cause varying degrees of stenosis in both the internal and external nasal valves due to changes in the nasal support structure and damage to the skin soft tissue.Before treatment,physical examinations,subjective scoring,and various instruments should be used to assess whether there is ventilation obstruction caused by nasal valve issues and the degree of ob-struction.Selecting an appropriate surgical treatment method is crucial:different cartilage grafts are used for various abnormal cartilage structures,while tissue grafts and flap plastic surgery are used for various skin and mucosal soft tissue abnormalities.The effectiveness of surgical treatment is significant,especially in improving nasal obstruction symptoms.This article reviews the research progress on the etiol-ogy,diagnosis,and surgical treatment of nasal valve stenosis after rhinoplasty.
