Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of the treatment of modified vaginal posterior wall repair combined with vaginal radiofrequency for moderate to severe vaginal laxity. Methods From October 2020 to June 2023,61 patients with moderate to se-vere vaginal relaxation were selected from the outpatients of Department of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery,Maternal and Child Health Hos-pital of Hubei Province. The study was divided into two groups,33 cases in the operation group and 28 cases in the combined operation and radiofrequency group. The surgical methods of both groups were modified posterior vaginal wall repair. In the combined group, vaginal ra-diofrequency therapy was performed 2 months after surgery, when the wound had recovered well.Physical examination,Vaginal Laxity Questionnaire(VLQ)and Female Sexual Function Index(FSFI)were performed before and 10 months after surgery, respectively. The before and after surgery data results of the two groups were compared, and the data between groups were compared too.Result All 61 patients recovered after surgery without serious complications.Ten months after surgery,59 patients(97%)showed significant improvement in the results of vaginal physical examination, and 61 patients showed significant improvement in VLQ and FSFI scores compared with those be-fore surgery VLQ score increased from(1.85±0.65)points before surgery to 4.64±0.86 after surgery,P<0.05,FSFI score increased from(20.10±1.91)points before operation to(27.39±2.50)after operation,P<0.05;Ten months after surgery, there was no significant differ-ence in VLQ score between the two groups(4.61±0.93)points in the operation group and(4.68±0.77)points in the operation group com-bined with radio frequency,P=0.74),but there was significant difference in FSFI score between the two groups(26.42±2.18)points in the operation group(28.54±2.40)points in the operation combined with radiofrequency group,P<0.05.Conclusion Surgery can improve moderate to severe vaginal relaxation from the anatomical level, and lay a good foundation for the follow-up treatments. Two months after surgery, the assist of vaginal radiofrequency therapy can help improve vaginal function and patients' sexual satisfaction. Therefore, the com-bined treatments of modified vaginal posterior wall repair and vaginal radiofrequency can obtain better clinical efficacy.
