Abstract:The skin on the back of the hand is thin with little subcutaneous fat. Trauma often involves tendon injury or rupture, especially in crush injuries. If not treated promptly, it can lead to subcutaneous hematoma, infection, adhesion of the tendon ends, and complete loss of finger extension function, clinically manifested as poor dorsiflexion of the fingers. The palmaris longus tendon is the most commonly used donor tendon in clinical practice due to its minimal impact on wrist function and small surgical trauma, and it has been widely applied [1-2]. In April 2023, the Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery at the 946th Hospital of the Army used a combination of palmaris longus tendon graft and radial artery superficial branch flap to repair a patient with soft tissue defect in the hand. The case is reported here.
