Abstract：Masseter muscle prominence(MMP)is one of the main factors that affect the contour of the lower face and form a"square"face.Although botulinum toxin A has been used in the treatment of MMP for decades and has gradually become the preferred method for treating MMP and adjusting lower facial contours,there is still a lack of standardized evaluation and treatment procedures.Based on the relevant literature at home and abroad,combined with clinician experience,this paper provided the standard procedure and precau-tions for the injection of botulinum toxin A into the masseter muscle,to strengthen health care physicians'awareness of MMP and the evalu-ation and diagnosis of MMP with botulinum toxin A in clinical practice.
