Abstract:Objective To explore the application of adjacent skin flap transfer in the repair of nasal local defects and its impact on aesthetic effects. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 99 patients with nasal local defects from August 2019 to October 2023.These patients were divided into a control group(n=49)and an observation group(n=50)based on different surgical methods. The control group underwent subcutaneous tissue pedicle island flap transfer, while the observation group underwent adjacent skin flap trans-fer.The survival rate of the flaps, nasal appearance, excellent rate of flap repair, and satisfaction with aesthetic effects were observed in both groups. Results Both groups of patients underwent successful surgeries with reasonable flap designs that fully covered the primary de-fects.After the first-stage flap transfer, all flaps in the observation group survived completely, with a flap survival rate of 100%,which showed no significant difference compared to the control group's 95.92%(P>0.05).One year post-surgery,the nasal appearance of both groups of patients recovered well, with soft texture and normal color of the flaps, and no ventilation obstacles. In the observation group, the alar groove was clear and the contour was normal, while in the control group, the alar groove appeared bloated, the junction between the nasal alar and cheek became shallower, and there were problems with connecting the two into a face. The excellent and good rate of flap re-pair in the observation group was 92.00%,which showed no significant difference compared to the control group's 81.63%(P>0.05).The overall satisfaction rate of aesthetic effects in the observation group was 96.00%,which was higher than that in the control group(79.59%),P<0.05.Conclusion In the reconstruction of nasal local defects, the transfer of a adjacent skin flap with a stable blood supply and a good appearance of the postoperative alar groove can enhance the repair and aesthetic effects of the flap.
