Abstract:Objective To clearly delineate the differences between the expanded skin flap method and the modified Nagata method of auricular stent carving, focusing on their application in beginner training for total ear reconstruction,to explore the differences in learning paths among different carving methods. Methods March 1st,2024 to March 8th,2024,100 professional master's students who received standardized surgical clinical training at the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University were randomly divided into Group A(n=50)and Group B(n=50).Group A conducted teaching exercises using the modified Nagata method for total ear reconstruction and ear bracket carving, while Group B conducted teaching exercises using the expanded skin flap for total ear reconstruction and ear bracket carving. The same plastic surgeon evaluated the students'anatomical structure and time required for carving ear brackets. Results There was no significant difference in the anatomical structure and total scores between the two groups(P>0.05).However,Group A demonstrated significantly shorter auricular framework carving times compared to Group B,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.001).Con-clusion These two carving methods are ideal for structured training for beginners in plastic surgery, helping them improve their skills. It is valuable to advocate for and implement.
