Abstract:Objective To design and explore the method of using digital technology to assist in the design of retroauricular carti-lage framework in the second stage of Nagata's technique. Methods From June to August 2021,9 patients with unilateral microtia were selected, and all patients were treated with Nagata's two-stage technique.Preoperatively, the patients were scanned by CT,and DICOM data of the head were obtained and imported into Mimics 21.0 to reconstruct the digital model of the healthy lateral ear.According to the digital ear,the retroauricular support model was individually designed for the reconstruction of the affected ear. Then it was printed by FDM and ap-plied to guide the designing of the cartilage framework for cranio-auricular sulcus reconstruction intraoperatively. Results There were 9 patients in total. The digital retroauricular support model was constructed and printed before surgery, which was utilized to the assist sculpture of cartilage framework for cranio-auricular sulcus reconstruction during the operation, and auricular reconstruction was complet-ed.Conclusion The application of digital technology in total auricular reconstruction in Nagata's technique can help patients with unilat-eral microtia to personalize and improve surgical accuracy.
