Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical application effect of constructing a multi-layer three-dimensional rib cartilage auricle scaffold with mortise and tenon joints and interlocking structures in full expansion auricle reconstruction. Methods The clinical data of 80 patients with microtia who underwent auricle reconstruction surgery with full expansion method in the Department of External Ear Plastic and Reconstruction,Plastic Surgery Hospital,Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from January to December 2024 were ret-rospectively analyzed. The rib cartilage auricle support is carved using technology that imitates mortise and tenon connections and inter-locking structures. The clinical effect of this technology was evaluated through patient and family satisfaction surveys and the incidence of postoperative complications. Results Eighty patients were followed up for 6 to 12 months after surgery. Two patients developed infection after expander placement, two developed hematoma after ear reconstruction, one developed stent exposure, and one developed scar hyper-plasia.Regarding the patients'evaluation of the surgical results,78 patients were very satisfied,1 patient was satisfied, and 1 patient was fair. The immediate compression test during the operation showed that the stent was not deformed. At the 6-month follow-up after the op-eration,the reconstructed ear scaffold was three-dimensional and not deformed. Conclusion In the full expansion auricle reconstruction surgery, the multi-layer three-dimensional rib cartilage auricle scaffold is carved using imitation mortise and tenon connection and inter-locking structure technology, which can effectively maintain the clear contour and substructure of the auricle and improve its stability and aesthetic effect.Patients have high postoperative satisfaction, good postoperative effects, and fewer complications. This method has broad clinical application potential.
