Abstract：Skin flaps with their vascular pedicle that supplies both blood and nutrients,possess strong resistance to infection and excellent reparative capabilities,making flap transplantation a superior option for clinicians in wound coverage.However,distal necrosis of the flap remains a persistent challenge for surgeons.The theory of the choke zone has been widely applied to explain flap survival.Summarize the recent advancements in the research of the choke zone theory and the methods for assessing neovascularization within the choke zone.
