Research advances in the treatment of Raynaud's phenomenon with botulinum toxin type A

Abstract：Since the first application of botulinum toxin type A in the treatment of Raynaud's phenomenon 20 years ago,such re-ports have gradually increased.The efficacy of the treatment has been supported by early case reports or retrospective studies,nonetheless,several recent prospective randomized controlled trials have not corroborated these initial findings.To investigate the recent application sta-tus of botulinum toxin type A in treating Raynaud's phenomenon,this article reviews the clinical advancements of this therapeutic approach and provides a foundation for researchers to design and conduct large-scale randomized double-blind controlled trials in the future.
