Research progress on the mechanism and clinical application of botulinum toxin type A in the treatment of facial acne

Abstract：Acne is one of the most common skin diseases in clinical practice,and traditional treatment methods include local or systemic therapy.In recent years,studies have shown that botulinum toxin type A(BTX-A)can effectively treat acne.BTX-A exerts its ef-fects through multiple mechanisms,including reducing sebum production and secretion,modulating inflammatory responses,and inhibiting hyperkeratinization of sebaceous ducts,thus bringing a new direction to acne treatment.This article reviews the mechanism and efficacy of BTX-A in the treatment of facial acne,aiming to provide more evidence for clinical application.
