Abstract:Grey hair is one of the physiological characteristics of human aging, which can also be caused or exacerbated by various internal and external factors, seriously affecting the social life and mental health of patients.Research shows that in addition to melanocytes in hair bulbs, hair follicle aging and melanocyte stem cells(McSCs)are also involved in the process of hair graying. The latest research in molecular biology and genetics has also supplemented our understanding of the mechanism of hair graying, elucidating the genes involved in the synthesis, transportation, and distribution of melanin in HF,as well as regulating these processes. This article summarizes the lineage development of melanocytes, the regulatory mechanisms of melanin production, and the main mechanisms of hair follicle aging.Based on this,we explore the ideas and prospects for the prevention and treatment of grey hair.
