Abstract：Congenital epicanthal folds have always been a hot topic for oculoplastic surgeons,especially in East Asian countries.Over the years,extensive and in-depth research has been conducted around the three fundamental questions of what it is,how it is formed,and how it is treated,with new discoveries,new perspectives,new insights,and new technologies constantly emerging.The purpose of this article is to summarize and refine the research results in this area,and to discuss the future development trend for readers'reference.
