Abstract：This study reviews Mongolian spots and nevus of Ito.both of which are dermal melanocytosis and share similar clinical appearances.Despite their similarities,significant differences exist between the two conditions regarding epidemiological characteristics,clinical presentations,pathological features,electron microscopy findings,and patterns of natural regression.This review aims to summarize the latest research and treatment advances for these conditions,with the intent to offer clinical guidance for physicians in the diagnosis,dif-ferential diagnosis,and treatment process.
