Superficial dermis resection combined with biopsy for seborrheic keratosis

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical application of superficial dermis resection combined with pathologic biopsy for the diagnosis and treatment of seborrheic keratosis.Methods From 2013 to 2016,a total of 87 lesions in 62 patients with seborrheic keratosis were treated with superficial dermis resection with frozen section or postoperative pathologic examination.Patients were followed up for 6 months.Results Eighteen atypical lesions were seen during intraoperative pathologic examination,including 1 case that was diagnosed as malignant.In this case,treatment was changed to radical surgery.The remaining patients had the same pathologic results as their clinical diagnosis.No patient experienced recurrence and there were few complications.Conclusion Superficial dermis resection for seborrheic keratosis can be definitely diagnosed pathologically,experience a high cure rate,obtain an aesthetically natural outcome,and is worth promoting.
