Comparison of the efficacy of traditional small incision frontotemporal rhytidectomy and lifting band assisted under endoscope

Abstract：Objective To compare the advantages and disadvantages of two methods of traditional small incision frontotemporal rhytidectomy and lifting band assisted under endoscope,and to discuss the clinical value of the two methods.Methods Ninety patients with frontotemporal skin laxity were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group,with 45 cases in each group.Medical soft tissue lifting bands were implanted in the experimental group using a small incision frontotemporal rhytidectomy under endoscope.Patients in the control group underwent traditional small incision frontotemporal rhytidectomy under endoscope.The distance of eyebrow lifting and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results The postoperative distance between the eyebrow and eye was statistically significant (P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the distance between the eyebrow and eye between the two methods.The patient satisfaction in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group.Conclusion Both surgical methods are capable of restoring eyebrow position,achieving the ideal eyebrow lift,and reducing upper eyelid wrinkles.But the lifting band assisted frontotemporal rhytidectomy achieving higher patient satisfaction.
