Observation of the results of alveolar cleft repair by combined lip and palate grafting

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of alveolar cleft repair by combined lip and palate grafting.Methods Our hospital received 56 cases of unilateral alveolar cleft patients,randomly divided into a control group (treated with the labial bone graft repair approach,n=28) and an observation group (labial and palatal bone grafting combined approach,n=28).Implantation of autologous iliac bone pine to repair alveolar cleft was performed,and changes in morphology and post-operative function of patients were observed.Results In the observation group,23 cases were successfully grafted.The success rate (85.71％) was significantly higher than that in the control group (53.57％),(P ＜ 0.05).The degree of postoperative pain and swelling of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P ＜ 0.05).After follow-up for 12 months,the success rate of bone grafting in the observation group was higher than that of the control group.Conclusion This form of treatment has less adverse reactions and a higher success rate for bone graft in the repair of alveolar cleft by combined lip and palate grafting.This method should be considered for clinical application.
