Abstract:Objective To compare the efficacy of self-made negative pressure drainage (SNPD) and adjustable negative pressure drainage (ANPD) in the treatment of infection after temporal filling with Polyacrylamlde Hydrogel (PAHG).Methods The cases of forty-two patients who suffered infection after temporal filling with PAHG were studied in hospital.Patients were divided into 2 groups:23 patients underwent ANPD,and 19 patients underwent SNPD.The wound healing condition, length of stay, and patients' satisfaction were recorded. Results In the SNPD group,16 patients were primarily healed, and 3 patients healed by second intention. The average stay was (18.3 ± 3.3) days, and the VAS satisfaction score was 82.8 ± 3.0.In the ANPD group,22 patients were primarily healed, and 1 patient healed by second intention. The average stay was (13.2 ± 3.0) days, and the VAS satisfaction score was 88.1 ± 5.1.The average stay and VAS satisfaction score were significantly different between the two groups (P < 0.05).Conclusion ANPD was more effective than SNPD in the treatment of infection after temporal filling with PAHG.The inflammation control in the ANPD group was more effective, and the patients' satisfaction was higher.
