Abstract:Objective To explore the operative method and clinical efficacy of endoscope-assisted suction cutter in the treatment of axillary osmidrosis. Methods From May 2015 to May 2016,a total of 12 patients with axillary osmidrosis accepted endoscope-assisted suction-cutter treatment. Results All patients felt slight pain during the operation and cooperated well with the operation. The average operation time was about 60 min (bilateral axillary osmidrosis) with less bleeding. The wounds healed at 7 to 10 days after operation.Patients reported return to an almost normal life. All cases were followed-up from 6 to 12 months. No recurrence, infection,or skin necrosis occurred.Scars were small, and patients were satisfied. Conclusion Endoscope-assisted suction cutter was a minimally invasive surgery. It can thoroughly excise apocrine sweat glands under direct vision. The efficacy was definite,as it preserved a relatively intact dermal vascular network and reduced the occurrence of complications. With the development and popularization of the endoscopic technique, this method has a good prospect.
