Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of hydrogel dressing Aquacel-Ag in the treatment of partial thickness burns of the head and face in children. Methods From 2013 to 2015,the clinical data of 70 children with partial thickness burns of the head and face were retrospectively analyzed.Seventy patients treated with various different treatment protocols were divided into two groups, with 48 cases in the observation group and 22 cases in the control group.Hydrogel dressing Aquacel-Ag was applied in the observation group, and Vaseline gauze dressing + nanometer silver antibacterial gel was used in the control group. The therapeutic effect between the two groups was compared. Results The wound healing time of the observation group and the control group was (13.25 ± 2.07) days and (16.36 ± 1.79) days, respectively. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The pain score of the dressing on the first, second, and third day of the observation group was (3.81 ± 0.66),(2.38 ± 0.50) and (2.63 ± 0.72),respectively,which was lower than the control group pain scores of (5.63 ± 0.92),(3.86 ± 0.83) and (3.63 ± 0.74).The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the scar scores between the two groups (t=1.064,P>0.05).There were 25 cases (52.08%) of pigmentation in the observation group, and 17 cases (77.27%) in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion The application of hydrogel dressing Aquacel-Ag in the treatment of partial thickness burns can shorten wound healing time and nursing time, reduce scar hyperplasia, and relieve patients' pain.It should be considered for popularization in clinic.
