Analysis and measurement of unilateral cleft lip and labionasal contour line

Abstract：Objective To measure the bilateral labionasal contour line of unilateral cleft lip patients and provide data reference for design and operation.Methods Thirteen cases of unilateral cleft lip were randomly selected,and measurement was performed with plastic angle gauge after general anesthesia,preoperative.Bilateral lip height,distance from the columella base to the sulcus alaris,and the perimeter of the nostril was measured.The value of lip height plus the distance from the columella base to the sulcus alaris was calculated.Results The average lip height of the uninjured side was 11.96 mm and the affected side was 8.00 mm,a difference of 3.96 mm.The average distance from the columella base to the sulcus alaris of the uninjured side was 6 mm and the affected side was 10.46 mm,a difference of 4.46 mm.The value of lip height plus the distance from the columella base to the sulcus alaris of the uninjured side was 17.96 mm and the affected side was 18.46 mm,a difference of 0.54 mm.The perimeter of the nostril of the uninjured side was 17.19 mm and the affected side was 24.62 mm,a difference of 6.66 mm.Conclusion The data analysis of the labionasal contour line provides reference and consideration for the design and operation for patients with unilateral cleft lip.
