Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma in the treatment of cheilion ulcers after facial contour correction by the sequential analysis method. Methods The split-face trial was adopted.Twenty-six patients with bilateral cheilion ulcers were involved in the study, all of whom received treatment to the experimental side (coated with PRP),while the control side was coated with normal saline. The efficacy was assessed through open two-way sequential analysis. Results The study concluded when it was carried out to the twenty-second patient. The efficacy rate of the experimental side was 80.77%,with 34.62% on the control side.During the follow-up from 3 to 6 months,no abnormal hyperplasia tissue was observed in any of the wounds. Conclusion Traumatic cheilion ulcers can heal faster through the local application of PRP.This method should be considered for promotion in clinic.
