Abstract:Objective To explore the technical feasibility and clinical efficacy of the composite tissue flap of the posterior cutaneous branch of the inferior gluteal artery in deep decubitus repair. Methods From January 2014 to January 2017,12 cases with deep decubitus were repaired by the composite tissue flap of the posterior cutaneous branch of the inferior gluteal artery. The skin defect area was from 8 cm × 5 cm to 17 cm × 10 cm.Results All flaps survived primarily.Stitches were taken out at 14 days postoperative. The incision healed well and the donor site closed by direct suture.Ten cases were followed up for 3 to 18 months. The color and temperature of the flaps were normal, local sensation was acceptable, and appearance was satisfactory. No recurrence was observed. Conclusion The application of the composite tissue flap of the posterior cutaneous branch of the inferior gluteal artery has a reliable blood supply, good sensation,a simple operation technique,a high survival rate, and a low recurrence rate. The efficacy was satisfactory and can be widely used in clinic.
