Observation of the clinical safety of domestically-produced PPDO threads in facial rejuvenation

Abstract:Objective To observe the clinicalsafety of domestically-produced PPDO threads in facial rejuvenation.Methods PPDO thread lift was performed using domestically-produced PPDO threads in 63 patients for facial rejuvenation treatment.The type,quantity,and distribution of PPDO threads were designed according to the conditions and degree of patients' facial sagging.The incidence of complications was recorded immediately,as well as 2 weeks,4 weeks,12 weeks and 24 weeks postoperatively.Results The most common complication was facial edema,with an incidence rate of 69.8% immediately postoperative and 100% at 24 weeks postoperative.Other complications were bruising,pain,slight sruface irregularities,and wire junction exposure.These symptoms were relieved spontaneously at 2 weeks postoperative.No systemic adverse reactions or local foreign body reaction occurred during the follow-upperiod.Conclusion The application of domestically-produced PPDO threads in facial rejuvenation is very safe.Further study is necessary to evaluate clinical effectiveness.
