Abstract:Objective To investigate the pathological features and immunohistochemical markers of basal cell carcinoma of the skin and to improve the level of diagnostics. Methods The ratio of male to female in this groupis 1.14:1,with patients ranging in age from 35 to 84 years old.The average age was 63.38 years old.Head, face, and other exposed parts are predilection sites, most of which were of the nodular type. The clinical data of 60 patients with basal cell carcinoma were comprehensively analyzed. Results The incidence of basal cell carcinoma shows genetic differences between races.Incidence in Caucasians was higherthan that in Asians. The predilection sitesin middle-aged and elderly populations were head, face,or other exposed parts, especially the nose.Basal cell carcinoma was closely related to chronic sunlight exposure. No recurrence or metastasis were found through follow-up aftersurgery. Conclusion Pathological examination plays an important role in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.Although the degree of malignancy in basal cell carcinoma is low, deep invasion and distant metastasis may occur.
