Abstract:Objective To compare the effects of the low-speed centrifugation (800 r/min) method and the filtration adsorption method on the viability of autologous fat grafts. Methods Fat tissue was harvested from 16 healthy patients by syringe aspiration. Har-vested fat tissue was prepared using two different methods:centrifugation and filtration adsorption. Glucose transport test and trypan blue stain were performed to evaluate the viability of fat grafts. Results The results of the glucose transportation test of the centrifugation group and the filtration adsorption group was (2.00±0.36) mmol/L and (1.5±0.25) mmol/L, respectively. The viability of lipocyte in fil-tration adsorption was significantly higher than that in the centrifugation group (P<0.05). The survival rate of fat is (91.0±3.0)% and (85.5±3.2)%, respectively. There was no significant difference between the two different methods of fat processing (P=0.417). Con-clusion Lipocyte purification by filtration adsorption has a higher viability than centrifugation. It is an efficient and feasible fat process-ing method.
