Abstract:Objective To introduce the apparent character of congenital cutis laxa and the surgical method and treatment effect of our rhytidectomy. Methods Rhytidectomy was conducted on the temporal, mandibular and cervical regions for 3 patients with con-genital cutis laxa, aimed at improving their aging facial appearance. Postoperative appearance, sustaining time and scar condition were summarized and analyzed. Results All 3 patients were followed-up for 6 to 24 months. All patients had a certain degree of recurrence, in which the cervical and nasolabial regions were most severe, but the cheek region was relatively unchanged. The patients and their families were positive about the results of surgery. Conclusion Rhytidectomy is an important method to improve the aging face of con-genital cutis laxa patients. Manipulating the SMAS layer can prolong the surgical effect. However, a shortage of cases or long time fol-low-up prevents us from estabilishing a precise conclusion on the choice of surgery methods.
