The application of three-dimensional digitalization in genioplasty

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of the application of three-dimensional digitalization in the malformation of the chin. Methods Preoperative three-dimensional measurements were performed by using Mimics software in order to determine the degree of de-formity accurately, in three dimensions. Using the chin horizontal osteotomy method, the preoperative design and operation guide were unified and the osteotomy block was moved to improve chin deformities. All patients underwent genioplasty after accurate design. Results Twenty patients’wounds healed primarily without severe complications. Lower lip numbness was resolved after 3 to 6 months. Conclusion The right operation method and precise operation design can effectively improve all kinds of chin deformities.
