Early application of the Meek technique in the large skin avulsion
Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of Meek micrografts on treatment of the large skin avulsion.Methods Under vacuum-assisted closure,10 cases with large skin avulsion were treated with wound closing with dressing after debridement at the early stage.Meek minigraft was placed on the wounds while the wound improvment.The survival rate of the minigraft,healing time of wound,time of operation,scar formation and condition of functional recovery were observed.Results After 6 to 8 months following up,all the 10 cases were satisfied with the excellent survival rate of the minigraft flap, slight scar and well healing of donor site.Conclusion The Meek grafting could save flap,shorten operat-ing time,fasten wound healing,shorten course of disease and lighten scar after healing.
