The application of hydrophilic polyacrylamide gel (Amazingel) as soft tissue filling agent in plastic surgery

Abstract：Objective This article summarized the experience of using hydrophilic polyacrylamide gel (Amazingel) as an injectable soft tissue filling agent. Methods From May. 1999 to june.2000, we used this agent as implant material in breast,cheek,temple.chin,lower extremity and buttock in 781 cases. Results By comparing the pre-filling and post-filling appearance in our cases,we found the results satisfactory.The total complication rate was 0.8%,all of them were cured. Conclusion The results of our cases demonstrate that the preliminary effect of using hydrophilic polyacrylamide gel is excellent with lesser complications.It is probably an ideal soft tissue filling agent.
