Abstract:Objective To explore the methodological comparison of microcolumn gel test(MGT)and manual polgbrene test(MPT)in cross matching. Methods The 278 patients with blood transfusion admitted to Rucheng County People's Hospital from March 2023 to March 2024 were selected as research subjects, all of whom underwent MGT and MPT cross matching tests. The required time and cross matching rate of different types of cross matching methods were compared, and the specific reasons for inconsistent cross matching results were analyzed. Results The cross matching time of MGT method was longer than that of MPT method(minutes:30.15±5.02 vs.15.24±3.16,P<0.001).There was no statistically significant difference in the mismatch rate between MGT and MPT methods[3.96%(11/278)vs.2.52%(7/278),P>0.05].The reasons for differences between the results of two methods may be that the concentration of red blood cell suspension was too high, the interference of fibrin in plasma,a little of torn membrane of the MGT card was not found, the anticoagulation of blood matching samples was insufficient, positive irregular antibody, the direct anti human globulin test was positive, and positive condensation. Conclusions Compared with MPT method, the consumption time of cross matching using MGT method is longer. There is no statistically significant difference in matching rate between two methods, and both have high application value.
