Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)and cardiovascular disease in elderly population and its influencing factors. Methods From January 2022 to January 2024,246 patients with cardiovascular disease admitted in Bayannur Hospital were included in observation group. In addition,300 healthy subjects during the same period were included in control group. The basic data of the subjects were analyzed, and the levels of thyroid function indicators[TSH,free thyroid hormone(FT4)and free triiodothyroxine(FT3)]and blood lipid indicators[total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)]were compared between the two groups. The correlation between serum TSH and blood lipid indicators was evaluated using multiple linear regression analysis. Results The levels of serum TSH,TC and LDL-C in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group, and the level of HDL-C was significantly lower than that in control group[TSH(mU/L):4.53±1.89 vs.3.75±1.93;TC(mmol/L):5.84±0.55 vs.4.16±0.46;LDL-C(mmol/L):3.27±0.61 vs.2.29±0.66;HDL-C(mmol/L):1.16±0.42 vs.1.63±0.26;all P<0.05].Pearson correlation analysis showed that the increase of serum TSH level was correlated with TC,TG and LDL-C(r values were 0.541,0.270 and 0.315,P values were 0.008,0.005 and 0.045,respectively).Conclusion TSH is correlated with blood lipid indicators, which may be a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.
