Abstract:In order to improve the magnetic and mechanical properties of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets, the Nd-Fe-B magnets with high properties were prepared through adding Dy nanopowder with the double-alloy method. The morphology, microstructure, chemical composition, magnetic properties and mechanical properties of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets were characterized with the scanning electron microscope(SEM), X ray diffractometer(XRD),particle size distribution analyzer, hysteresis loop tester and Vickers hardness tester. The results show that with increasing the mass fraction of Dy element, the coercivity of magnets gets greatly improved, while the remanence and maximum energy product slightly decrease. Compared to the magnet without Dy element, when the mass fraction of Dy element is 0.8%, the coercivity increases by 5.4%,the remanence and maximum energy product decrease by 1.3% and 1.5%, the Vickers hardness increases by 7.1%,and thus the magnet obtains the optimum comprehensive magnetic properties.
