Abstract:Aiming at the problem that the primary induced electromotive force ( EMF ) has interference effect on the secondary induced EMF when the electromagnetic conductivity method is used to measure the water content of crude oil, a four coil sensor composed of two sending coils and two receiving coils was proposed according to the electromagnetic conductivity principle. Through increasing the auxiliary sending and receiving coils and optimizing the relative position of four coils, a part of primary induced EMF could be counteracted, and the residual primary induced EMF with the same frequency was separated through signal processing. According to the results of magnetic field distribution in the pipeline which was simulated and analyzed with ANSYS, the optimal locations of four coils were determined. In addition, a sensor was built to actually test the crude oil with the water content ranged from 0 to 100%. The results show that the same frequency interference of primary induced EMF gets effectively suppressed.
