Abstract:In order to investigate the critical conditions of tool-chip sticking welding when the carbide tool is used for cutting stainless steel materials, and obtain the influence law of cutting parameters on the cutting temperature and sticking welding accumulation, the response surface method (RSM) with Design-Expert software was used.According to three factors and three levels for the test, the prediction model for the cutting temperature in the process of cutting 1Cr18Ni9Ti with the carbide tool was established, the regression model was analyzed, and the significance of the model and its corresponding factors were proved. The results show that the proposed prediction model is accurate, and has the reliability and practicability. The temperature range of tool-chip sticking welding is generally not more than 800℃.In addition, the sticking welding microstructure of tool rake face exhibits the particle clustering state, and the interaction of cutting speed and feed rate has most significant effect on the cutting temperature.
