Abstract:In order to extend the life extension of gun barrel, TiAlN film was deposited on the surface of gun steel with magnetron sputtering technology, and V element was added to improve the properties of films. With the scanning electron microscope with energy spectrometer and X ray diffractometer, the composition, phase structure and surface morphologies of film were analyzed, and the effect of V element on the thermal shock resistance of TiAlN film was studied. The results show that the TiAlN and TiAlVN films are mainly composed of TiN and grow preferentially. The TiAlVN film belongs to the face-centered cubic and weak hexagonal close-packed double structures, the grain size is slightly larger than that of TiAlN film, and the lattice constant is smaller than that of TiAlN film. And the quality of TiAlVN film is relatively better. For the TiAlVN film, the cracks are not easy to generate, and the thermal shock resistance is better. In addition, the thermal shock cycle number of TiAlVN film is about as 1.4 times as that of TiAlN film.
