Application of CCD vision sensor and image processing technology in seam automatic tracking

Abstract：A real - time image processing method is studied and developed by using procedure designing language-visual basic, which can track trail in arc welding, capture a groove image with CCD in front of weld and get the core of groove through image capturing system and processing of software. Welding torch is leaded to move and track timely with the deviation quantity of the core of current groove and the core of initial groove. Orbit tracking precision can reach 0.5mm. If several video cameras are used at the same time, it can test three dimensional information, improving tracking precision greatly.
