Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of preoperative artificial intelligence(AI)reconstruction technique-assisted total hip arthroplasty(THA)in the treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip(DDH)in adults. Methods The clinical data of 88 adult DDH patients who underwent THA at the Second Affiliated Hospital of the Air Force Military Medical University from April 2020 to April 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.Patients were divided into two groups according to the preoperative planning method.46 patients(12 males and 34 females)in the observation group underwent preoperative planning with AI reconstruction technique, with an average age of(51.22±10.30)years(range 39 to 75 years).42 patients(11 males and 31 females)in the control group underwent traditional imaging assessment and empirical preoperative planning, with an average age of(52.03±9.88)years(range 42 to 75 years). The surgery-related indicators, postoperative recovery indicators, imaging indicators,Harris hip score, short form-36 health survey(SF-36),and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The mean follow-up time was(19.22±5.72)months(range 6 to 34 months)in the observation group and(19.70±4.84)months(range,9 to 33 months)in the control group. The observation group had significantly shorter surgical time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative first ambulation time, hospital stay, and time to disengage from walking aids(P<0.05).The matching rates of acetabular cup and femoral stem prostheses were higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).The difference in lower limb length was smaller in the observation group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in acetabular abduction angle and acetabular anteversion angle between the two groups(P>0.05).At 6 months postoperatively, both groups had higher Harris hip score and SF-36 scores compared with preoperative values(P<0.05),and the observation group had higher scores than the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence rate of postoperative complications, including prosthesis dislocation, incision infection, hematoma, and prosthesis loosening, was lower in the observation group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with traditional preoperative planning, preoperative AI reconstruction technique-assisted TH A for adult DDH patients can improve surgical accuracy, shorten surgical time and postoperative recovery period, enhance postoperative function and quality of life, and reduce the incidence of complications, showing high clinical application value.
