Salmon Calcitonin Combined with Red Bone Marrow and Local Injection in the Treatment of Non-union and Delayed Union
Abstract:Objective To investigate clinical effect of the salmon calcitonin combined with red bone marrow local via per-cutaneous subperiosteum injection or the marrow cavity injection in treatment of delayed healing and nonunion of fracture. Methods 53 cases of delayed healing of bone nonunion and bone nonunion were divided into treatment group and control group. Treatment group received salmon calcitonin and fresh autologous red bone marrow by subperiosteal skin or medullary cavity puncture. And autologous red bone marrow puncture injection was given to the patients in the control group. The first in-jection was performed under the Carm. There were 10 days between treatments and 3 times for a course of treatment. The pa-tients were followed up for half a year, the bone healing of the two groups were compared. Results At 2 months follow-up,the total effective rate of the treatment group was 96. 2% ,while the control group was 29. 6% ,and the healing rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group. The total effective rate was 96. 2% in the treatment group and 44. 4% in the control group after 6 months of follow-up. The treatment group was significantly better than the control group. Conclusion The salmon calcitonin combined with red bone marrow local via percutaneous subperiosteum injection or the marrow cavity injection for che treatment of delayed fracture healing and bone nonunion operation is simple. The price is low and the effect is signifi-cant.
