Clinical Results of Acetabular Rotation Steotomy for Developmental Acetabular Dysplasia in Adults
Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical results of peri-acetabular rotation steotomy for developmental acetabular dysplasia. Methods From March 2006 to January 2015,24 cases of developmental acetabular dysplasia, including 27 hip joints underwent with peri-acetabular rotation osteotomy. There were 2 males and 19 females. The mean age was 27. 2 years( range 14 to 45 yeas). According to K-L radiographic grade:14 joints in stage Ⅰ,8 joints in stage Ⅱ,5 joints in stage Ⅲ. Ac-cording to Crowe classification:21 joints in type Ⅰ,6 joints in type Ⅱ. Results The clinical evaluation criteria and Imaging parameters were used to analyze the clinical results. All cases were followed-up. The mean followed-up time was 2. 2 months (range 1 ~ 3 years). Good results were obtained in all cases after operation. There was no clinically significant difference in the patient’s range of activities. Harris scores was elevated from 70. 6 points to 92. 1 points with Statistical Significance. The im-aging paremeters had changes with statistical significance. The sharp angle reduced from(48. 2 ± 8)° down to(38. 5 ± 4)°, the CE angle rose from(7 ± 2. 05)°up to(33 ± 4)°,the acetabular coverage index rose from 36% up to 87% ,the acetabular head Index rose from(58. 38 ± 4. 02)% up to(89. 13 ± 5. 26)% . The center of rotation reduced from(18 ± 1. 93)mm down to(15 ± 1. 28)mm. Conclusion Peri-acetabular rotational osteotomy is an effective method for the treatment of developmen-tal acetabular dysplasia.
