Abstract:Objective To observe the mid-term clinical results of posterior interlaminal approach percutaneous transfo-raminal endoscopic discectomy(PTED)treatment for patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH). Methods Ninety-four pa-tients with single LDH were treated with PTED. The clinical results were evaluated by VAS,Oswestry disability index and Mac-nab criterion. Results Seventy-two patients were followed up and the average follow - up time was(25. 4 ± 6. 3)months (from 22 to 34 months). The VAS score was(7. 5 ± 1. 2),(1. 8 ± 0. 4),(0. 5 ± 0. 05)and(0. 3 ± 0. 03)respectively in pre-operation,3 days post-operation,3 months post-operation and last following time. The post-operative score was significantly low-er thanthatinpre-operation( P ﹤ 0. 05). TheODIwas(70. 4 ± 15. 1)% ,(21. 2 ± 5. 4)% ,(17. 2 ± 4. 8)% and(7. 3 ± 2. 1)% respectively before operation,3 days post-operation,3 months post-operation and last following time. The post-operative score was significantly lower than that in pre-operation(P ﹤ 0. 05). According to Mcanab criterion,the therapeutic outcome was excellent in 58 patients,good in 16 patients,fair in 4 patients and poor in 2 patients. Conclusion Posterior interlaminal approach PTED has effective mid-term results for the treatment of LDH patients.
