The Epidemiological Study on Cervical Spinal Canal Ratio of Xinjiang Uighur
Abstract:Objective To study the epidemiological characteristics of the rate of cervical spinal canal of Xinjiang uygur. Methods We selected five cities(kashi, hotan, turpan, hami, yining)of Xinjiang and examed the adults of healthy spine as samples by random layer sampling method. Lateral X-ray of cervical vertebral of different genders groups and different age groups of Xinjiang uygur were collected. We measured sagittal diameter of vertebral canal(a)and the sagittal diameter of ver-tebral body(b)of each of cervical vertebra C2 ~ 7 and converted to cervical spinal canal ratio( a/ b)Statistic analysis was made. Results The verage cervical spinal canal ratio of C2 ~ 7 of Xinjiang uygur decrease with level(but cervical spinal canal ratio of the C4 was slightly lower than that of the C5 );in the cervical spine C2 ~ 7 ,there was significantly difference between male and female(P ﹤ 0. 05),cervical spinal canal ratio of men were uch smaller than that of women. ,men had bigger cervical vertebral sagittal diameter of C2 ~ 7 segment than that of women(P ﹤ 0. 05);the cervical vertebral canal sagittal diameter of C2 ~ 7 segment showed no difference between women and men(P ﹥ 0. 05);the difference of cervical spinal canal ratio of differ-ent age groups in the C2 ,C3 ,C4 ,C6 and C7 segment was significant(P ﹤ 0. 05),but the rate of cervical spinal canal in differ-ent age groups of cervical vertebra C5 segmental difference was not significant(P ﹥ 0. 05),women and men had no significant difference(P ﹥ 0. 05)in the cervical spinal canal and vertebral sagittal diameter of C2 ~ 7 segment,. Conclusion Cervical ver-tebral canal ratio related measurements of Xinjiang uygur reveals the epidemiological characteristics of cervical spinal canal ra-tio of Xinjiang uygur. It provide very important evidence which is about clinical application and further genetic study.
