Effect of Leg Length Discrepancy after Total Hip Replacement on Hip Joint Function
Abstract:Objective To study the effect of leg length discrepancy after total hip replacement on hip joint function. Methods We selected 150 cases who underwent artificial hip joint replacement in our hospital from May 2013 to May 2015, then examined plain films and measured the length of the double lower limbs. The patients were divided into control group (LLD≤5 mm,41 caess),group Ⅰ(5 mm ﹤ LLD ≤10 mm,80 cases),group Ⅱ(10 mm ﹤ LLD≤20 mm,20 cases),groupⅢ(LLD ﹥ 20 mm,9 cases)according to the difference of the length of the shorter limbs(LLD),hip joint function was evalu-ated by Harris score, the degree of satisfaction was compared. Results The Harris score of the control group and the group I was significantly higher than that in the group Ⅱ and the group Ⅲ(P ﹤ 0. 05). There was no statistical significance between control group and group I(P ﹥ 0. 05). The Harris score of group Ⅰ and group Ⅱ was significantly higher than that of groupⅢ. The difference was statistically significant(P ﹤ 0. 05). The satisfaction rate of the control group was significantly higher than that of group Ⅰ,group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ. The satisfaction rate of group Ⅰ was significantly higher than that of group Ⅱand group Ⅲ. The satisfaction rate of group Ⅱ was significantly higher than that of group Ⅲ. The difference was statistically significant(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion Leg length discrepancy more than 10 mm after artificial total hip replacement had a cer-tain effect on the function of hip joint.
