The Clinical Effect of Total Hip Arthroplasty for Osteoarthrits Secondry to Old Tuberculosis of the Hip in Plateau Area
Abstract:Objective To retrospective analyze the clinical effect of total hip arthroplasty for osteoarthrits secondry to old tuberculosis of the hip in adult in plateau area. Methods Twenty-three hips of twenty-three cases underwent total hip arthro-plasty for osteoarthrits secondry to old tuberculosis of the hip joint in adults. They were evaluated with Harris score of preopera-tive and post-operative and analysized by statistics. Results All cases were followed up for average 22. 5 months(range 12 ~36 months). The mean preoperative Hip Harris Score(HHS)was(37. 50 ± 3. 78)compared with postoperative HHS(87. 43 ± 2. 81)(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion Total hip arthroplasty for osteoarthrits secondry to old tuberculosis of the hip joint is safe and effective. The key is acetabular reconstruction.
